MAGNOK grew out of a series of conversations between the founding partners starting in 2015. Over the course of a year, the two had many deep discussions about the nature of hospitality in the modern world that has seen the merger of brands and the creation of disruptive new operations like AirBNB. But central to all of the discussions was what did people really want. What did they really care about? And why – generally – the industry, was missing the mark.
The word “luxury” is one of the most over-used and non-descript words in the hospitality industry. At MAGNOK, we know that luxury is not about terry cloth robes and 24-hour room service, but rather understanding the wants and needs of individual members. Luxury is about service. What distinguishes one venue from another is not location or furnishings (though they help), it is about the effortless meeting of a member needs. MAGNOK focuses on that in re-imagining what hospitality can be.
